‘Black Mirror’ creator says the world is too dark for new episodes right now

Brooker is looking to move to writing comedies

Black Mirror series creator Charlie Broker has said that he believes the world is too dark right now for new episodes of the show with the spread of COVID-19.

With the peculiar circumstances we’re in right now, Broker believes that new episodes of the dystopian sci-fi anthology series may make us feel worse.

“At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those,” Brooker explains to The Radio Times when asked about another season. “I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.”

Prior to Black Mirror, Brooker wrote for may comedies like , Brass Eye, and Nathan Barley.
