After cryptic messages all over social media and real world murals around Brooklyn, many are wondering what Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon is preparing for us.
Pitchfork reports that Vernon will be premiering a new album, live this Friday, August 12 at Eaux Claires in Wisconsin. The words “22 Days” have been one of the only common elements among all the mysterious promotional material — album or song title perhaps? This new album would be Vernon’s first since Bon Iver’s 2011 self-titled sophomore.

Vernon announced he was writing new material late last year with eclectic visuals appearing online over the last few weeks. The mural below was snapped in Brooklyn, again hinting at the significance of “22.”

A glimpse at a new song below seems to cut off just before the vocals take off. We’ll be impatiently waiting until Friday to hear new music and even more so for the album to officially hit shelves.
