Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and The National’s Bryce Dessner announce collaborative album

'When We Are Inhuman' is set for release on August 30

Bonnie “Prince” Billy (aka Will Oldham) and The National’s Bryce Dessner have teamed up with contemporary classical ensemble Eighth Blackbird for a new collaborative album.

The album, When We Are Inhuman, is due out on August 30th. The eight-track record showcases Eighth Blackbird creating new arrangements of songs from Oldham’s catalog and Dessner’s Murder Ballad series. The album has songs inspired by Sufjan Stevens and Julius Eastman, and the lead single from the album remakes Oldham and Matt Sweeney’s “Beast for Thee” from the 2005 album Superwolf.
