Almost exactly one year after Born Ruffians started production on their fifth studio album, Uncle, Duke & The Chief has arrived.
This is the band’s first album since 2015’s RUFF, and marks the return of the band’s original lineup. Following their 2013 album Birthmarks, drummer Steve Hamelin parted ways with the group to head back to school. Born Ruffians also added a second guitarist/keyboardist during production on that album, that found the band exploring with new synth focused sounds.
With the return of the original lineup for their latest, Uncle, Duke & The Chief sees the band return to their roots. Born Ruffians new material is a mixture of gritty rock tones and anthemtic singalongs, harkening back to their early days of Red, Yellow & Blue.
