Boy Scouts announces new album ‘Wayfinder’, shares new single ‘That’s Life Honey’

Oakland songwriter Taylor Vick has announced a brand new album under her stage name Boy Scouts. Wayfinder is the follow up to 2019’s Free Company and it’s out October 1 via Anti-.

“That’s Life Honey” is the first new single from the upcoming album. In a statement Vick revealed,

“This song is about trying to make light of a shitty situation. Having a circumstance that sucks, like wanting to go to therapy but you can’t afford it, and fantasizing about a world where you could get a chip implanted or have some surgery that rewires your brain and resolves you from whatever problems you have. This song is mostly my attempt at writing a tragicomedy, combined with true experiences of figuring out how to open up to people.”

Alongside the stunning ballad comes an equally beautiful music video, directed by Jake Noković, that sees Vick sailing through the ocean.

Back in 2019, Boy Scouts joined Jay Som (Bachelor) on tour and since then she’s also supported artists such as Kevin Krauter, Chastity Belt and played at the 2020 Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.
