Long Island, New York-based emo outfit Brand New have cancelled three upcoming UK and Ireland tour dates following allegations of sexual misconduct against frontman Jesse Lacey.
The band confirmed that they have postponed the tour dates after touring member Kevin Devine took to Twitter and Facebook to announce that he was backing out of the tour dates.
I’ve decided I won’t be making the trip to the UK & Ireland this week, neither to play in Brand New nor to do my own set in Dublin.
I’m sorry to anyone who was looking forward to seeing me play. I will make every effort to make it up to you as soon as possible.

Lacey issued an apology over the weekend after a woman came forward with accounts of the singer-guitarist soliciting nude photos and engaging in inappropriate behaviour with her in 2002 when she was just 15 years old. Lacey was 24 at the time.
“I am sorry for how I have hurt people, mistreated them, lied, and cheated,” Lacey wrote in a Facebook post. “I am sorry for ignoring the way in which my position, status, and power as a member of a band affected the way people viewed me or their approach to their interactions with me. And I am sorry for how often I have not afforded women the respect, support, or honesty that they deserved, and which is their right. I believe in the equality and autonomy of all, but in my life I have been more of a detriment to these ideals than an advocate.”
There are currently no plans to reschedule the UK and Ireland dates.
