What In The World Is A Burger In A Can??
Ok so when I read the subject line for this article, I thought it was nasty. What I didn’t realize, however, is that a burger in a can isn’t just the burger part of a burger. It’s the whole shebang. Bun, toppings, and all.
The kicker? You actually put the can into boiling water. When you take it out, you have a warm, assembled burger ready to e… eat. I was going to say “enjoy” but I don’t think that’s a real thing.
Is It Actually Edible Food??
It seems that a burger in a can is actually a real thing. In fact, it even has its own website and of course an ingredient list. And what’s further hilarious/disgusting is that it’s actually designed to be eaten, not just as a joke.
You can opt for a canned burger on a hiking trip, camping in the desert, or even if you’re an extreme athlete doing a marathon or something. Although you’d think the latter would require a bit more high quality food, you’d also think that no one would ever in their right mind put an entire burger into a can and sell it to actual humans.
So yes, dear reader, it is actually edible food. Here’s an ‘unboxing’ of sorts so you can see how the canned hamburger goes down.
What Twisted Person Thought Cheeseburgers In A Can Were A Good Idea Anyways?
The hamburger itself is actually quite new in the big scheme of things. The modern hamburger was reportedly born in the 1930s, while the first-ever burger was supposedly invented in 1885 in Wisconsin.
As you can imagine, there’s a great debate about who invented the hamburger, I’d imagine it’s a similar story as the argument around who invented surfing. Anyways, it’s obviously a super popular food. So why not put it in a can?
A Swiss company by the name of Trekking-Mahlzeiten, a subsidiary of Katadyn,
evolved the hamburger into a canned good. Whether or not it’s good is up for debate.
With a shelf life of up to 12 months, all you need to do is toss your canned burger into a pot of boiling water. From there, pop the top, and dig in.
Where To Find A Burger In A Can
on Instagram
There are a few ways to go with this. If you search “where to buy a burger in a can” your results will send you to Amazon, Wal Mart, etc. But those websites don’t seem to actually have any burgers in a can.
However, when you go to the ASMC Adventure Company, they have a page to buy a cheeseburger in a can. Sadly, however, it seems that this is a very popular product. Looks like it’s sold out across their website.
You gotta wonder: Are people actually eating this product… or are they buying it as a joke? Get on their waitlist and find out!
