As was first reported last June, beloved Parkdale joint Cadillac Lounge will be closing. The bar and live music venue is hosting The Last Ride of the Cadillac Lounge through the end of the month, before finally shuttering operations.
There is something of a sliver-lining, though. Toronto won’t be losing another live music venue. NOW Magazine reports that longtime owner Sam Grosso will continue to book for the new yet-to-be-named venue and bartend on weekends. Grosso sold the building to a group of partners led by restauranteur Neil Brown.

According to NOW, Brown is hoping to expand and attract younger crowds without putting off regulars.
“It’s an amazing live music venue, and we’re not looking to change that,” Brown told NOW. “But also, I know there’s a lot of bands starting out in the city who would love to have a stage.”
