A new Canadian-developed web application compiles crowd-sourced information to inform shoppers on estimated wait times to get into grocery stores, as well as essential item availability.
Live Lineups encourages users to report waiting times and availability of items like baby wipes, diapers, toiletries, and cleaning products. Users can search for stores based on location and/or what they have in stock.

Report current waiting time and the availability of essential items at stores. Since the items are categorized into a limited list and it is optional to report items availability, it’s very simple to report while you are waiting in the long line or when you are inside the store & doing shopping. #livelineups #reportwaitingtime #reportstorestatus #crowdsource #essentialitems #panicshopping #longlineup #toronto #ontario #canada #northamerica #unitedstates #helpcommunity #covid19 #pandemic #socialdistancing #contactless
Wait times at select stores are categorized by colour, ranging from no wait (indicated by green) to 15 minutes (yellow) and lengthy waits of 45 minutes or more (red).
Users can easily plug in their personal wait times in the app’s “nearby stores” interface. Stores can be searched using the map function, but a list format is also available.
