Canada Post has cancelled its holiday delivery guarantee, blames rotating strike

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers claims the company is being strategic

Canada Post has just announced that the ongoing rotating postal worker strikes might effect your holidays. The five weeks that workers went on rotating strikes has caused significant backlogs, and as a result, the postal service has cancelled its holiday guarantee.

Canada Post says that they will need significant time to remedy the issue, including the overwhelming number of Black Friday and Cyber Monday shipments.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has responded by claiming that the timing could have been made up by Canada Post to force workers back on the job. They also claimed that the company knew it was strategic to wait to ask the government to step in until the holiday season approached.

Protests are still being held by several groups of postal worker staff nationwide as Canada Post and the union continue to mediate.
