Submissions are now open for the ninth annual program. As one of Canada’s most successful programs supporting aspiring Canadian musical acts, it provides up-and-coming musicians with unprecedented access to the business side of the music industry. The Emerging Musician Program boasts introductions to established and renowned artists and music industry influencers, mentorship sessions, studio recording time, artist development and funding. All winners will also have chances to participate in national showcase opportunities.

12-time JUNO winner and 2012 Canada’s Walk of Fame Inductee Sarah McLachlan will be joining the mentors this year. McLachlan will provide two 45-minute virtual group sessions with the finalists and grand prize winner. This year’s prizing also includes financial support for a live-off-the-floor performance video. It will also include a dedicated artist page on the new official website for the program, EmergingMusician.ca.

“We are extremely proud of this program, which continues to attract talented musicians from every province and territory, as well as partners and influencers who want to join us in fostering the next generation of musical achievement in Canada,” Canada’s Walk of Fame CEO Jeffrey Latimer explains.
