Canada’s Wonderland to officially reopen in July

After over a year of staying closed, Canada’s Wonderland has announced that it will officially reopen in the first week of July.

The Vaughan, Ontario amusement park announced that it would be opening its doors for 2021 “in alignment with Step 2 of the province’s reopening framework.” Under the assumption that vaccination rates continue to rise and case counts keep falling, Ontario will enter Step 2 in the first week of July.

As a result, Wonderland will reopen with limited capacity for season pass holders on July 5th and 6th, with a grand public reopening on July 7th. Its water park, Splash Works, will reopen on July 12th.

To align with COVID-19 restrictions, all guests of the amusement park and water park will need to book reservations here as of Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

“Safety has and will always be Canada’s Wonderland’s number one priority, and that includes the health of our guests and associates,” Canada’s Wonderland General Manager Norm Pirtovshek explains. “With our new protocols in place, we are eager to offer some long-overdue fun to our guests. We are looking forward to reopening the park and we’re ready to provide safe, fun and unforgettable experiences to all our guests.”

In addition to reservations, Canada’s Wonderland will host health screenings and temperature checks for guests, associates and vendors before they enter the park. Guests two-years-old and over must wear a face covering in every area unless it is designated otherwise. You may remove your mask if you are seated and dining.

There will also be physical distancing markers around the park, enhanced cleaning procedures, additional hand sanitation stations, and capacity management.
