Pokemon Go has captured more than just hearts: our time, phone batteries and even jobs. Not being available in Canada hasn’t stopped many trainers from getting their hands on the game and beginning their adventures earlier than Nintendo and Niantic anticipated.
It’s clear that Pokemon Go fever is here in Toronto. We’ve already seen Lure Parties at Yonge and Dundas Square (video below), a dedicated Facebook page, a subreddit and now thanks to the latter, a Pokemon Go Google Map. Trainers have been busy not only collecting pocket monsters, but Poke-Master hopefuls in Toronto have been crowdsourcing PokeStops, Gyms and Pokemon sightings all around the GTA.
Thanks to /r/PokemonGOToronto, you’ll be a little closer to catching them all with the Google map. So take a look, find some great places to put down lures with friends (we’ve got a bunch of Eevees around us!) and catch as many creatures as you can before Toronto’s massive Pokemon Go meet up.
A Facebook event has already been created in anticipation for the official app release. Players plan to meet at the CN Tower at the undetermined date, “to help ring in the official start of our new Pokemon adventure together.”
Seeing as Pokemon GO hasn’t even officially been released in Canada we look forward to future updates which are sure to make the experience even more enjoyable.
