Charli XCX has detailed her forthcoming documentary, Alone Together. She also announced a release date for the new doc.
When COVID-19 sprung the whole world into lockdown and quarantine in March of 2020, Charli XCX buckled down. Working from home, she crafted one of the best albums of the year: how i’m feeling now. Amidst the chaos of the time, Charli XCX truly tapped into the anxiety and loneliness of the moment.
Not only did Charli make the album, but she also filmed the process for a documentary. Directed by Bradley&Pablo, Alone Together chronicles the making of how i’m feeling now. The film debuted at SXSW this year, and now it finally has received a release date.
Check out the trailer for Alone Together below.
The documentary will arrive in theaters and on VOD platforms on January 28th.
“With almost a year of editing over 5000 clips from different cameras and formats condensed into 107 minutes, Charli XCX: Alone Together is a love letter to her fans who are the co-stars of the movie,” a statement about the film reads.
Charli produced the film with Snoot Entertainment and Dangerous Baby Productions.
Shortly after the release of Alone Together, Charli will release her new album, Crash. That record is out on March 18th and it features “Good Ones.” Her recent collaboration with Christine & The Queens and Caroline Polachek, “New Shapes,” will also appear on the record.
That album has some pretty huge features. You can look forward to appearances from Rina Sawayama, A. G. Cook, the 1975’s George Daniel, and more.
Charli XCX is also embarking on a tour, which stops at Massey Hall on April 25th.
