Charli XCX previews new song ‘Hot Girl’ in trailer for A24’s ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’

A new trailer for A24’s slasher Bodies Bodies Bodies is here, and it features a new original song from Charli XCX called “Hot Girl.”

Today’s new teaser serves as Charli XCX’s first new music since her recently released album, CRASH. On “Hot Girl,” Charli XCX delivers smooth, confident lyrics atop a catchy beat that’s sure to get you dancing.

Directed by Halina Reijn, Bodies Bodies Bodies stars Amandla Stenberg, Chase Sui Wonders, Rachel Sennott, Lee Pace, Pete Davidson, Maria Bakalova, and Myha’la Herrold. The film is set to follow a group of rich 20-year-olds at a party-turned-murder.

“When a group of rich 20-somethings plan a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game goes awry in this fresh and funny look at backstabbing, fake friends, and one party gone very, very wrong,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Not only does “Hot Girl” fit the film perfectly, but it also sees Charli XCX expanding on the signature pop sound of CRASH. As a pioneer of the hyperpop sound, CRASH feels pretty surprising for Charli. Across its 12 tracks, she hones in on a pop star sound, weaving her way into the mainstream with pulsing synths and autotune-free vocals. Ultimately, Charli is ready to bridge the gap between her hyperpop origins and the mainstream sound on CRASH.

After the release of the album, Charli XCX shared four new tracks as part of a deluxe edition. Those songs include “Selfish Girl,” “I Don’t Give a Fuck,” “Sorry If I Hurt You,” and “How Can I Not Know What I Need Right Now.”
