Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama collaborate on new bop ‘Beg For You’

Charli XCX and Rina Sawayama have shared their highly anticipated collaboration, “Beg For You.”

The track comes from Charli XCX’s forthcoming album, CRASH, out March 18th via Asylum/Atlantic. “Beg For You” is an upbeat, club-ready anthem that strays from Charli’s usual hyperpop sound. Making for more of a mainstream bop, you’ll definitely hear this song playing at the clubs (when they open again).

With a Eurodance energy, Charli sings lines like, “Oh, don’t you leave me this way.” Together, Charli and Sawayama join on the chorus, wailing, “You know I need you to stay/ Don’t make me beg for you.”

Charli XCX collaborated with some big names on CRASH, including Rina Sawayama, A. G. Cook, the 1975’s George Daniel, and more. The press release for the new song says that Charli XCX “possessed and persuaded” the stacked guest list. She did this using her “femme fatale powers and a multitude of dark spells and curses. They will all remain locked in my basement forever.”

In addition to “Beg For You,” CRASH also features previously released singles “Good Ones” and “New Shapes.” The latter single features big name artists Caroline Polachek and Christine & The Queens.

Charli XCX has a documentary about the making of how i’m feeling now coming out tomorrow (January 28th). Titled Alone Together, the film is directed by Bradley&Pablo.

When COVID-19 sprung the whole world into lockdown and quarantine in March of 2020, Charli XCX buckled down. Working from home, she crafted one of the best albums of the year: how i’m feeling now. Amidst the chaos of the time, Charli XCX truly tapped into the anxiety and loneliness of the moment.
