Chartreuse share heartbreaking new single ‘Only You’

The UK-native outfit Chartreuse have shared their latest single “Only You”. The single is the second from their upcoming EP Is It Autumn Already?.

The song was released alongside a peculiar video that sees guitarist/pianist/co-vocalist Michael Wagstaff singing on his back while the ground moves behind him as if he is being pulled across the grass.

The track is poignant, opening with slow, bold piano until it progresses into an ethereal melody with sweet subtle harmonies. It’s an extremely fascinating listen that’s both eerie and dark but simultaneously light and blissful.

The song is the follow up to their previously released single “Things Are Changing Too Quickly” that came out in July. Both tracks will be featured on their upcoming EP, Is It Autumn Already? that is out in full on November 19.

A press release describes Is It Autumn Already? as “six emotionally bruising tracks” that “links together oddball time signatures, unusual textures, rhythmically oblique”. Further stating that it’s “unlike anything else you will have heard this year, or even last”.

Meanwhile, Chartreuse are set to play a number of festivals throughout the UK including, Dot To Dot Festival in Bristol and Nottingham, Live at Leeds, Stag and Dagger Festival in Scotland, and Wild Paths Festival.
