Check out Toronto Punk Band – PUP

PUP, formerly Topanga, finishes up debut album with Dave Schiffman

Changing a band name is always risky, but when the spin off of the ‘90s sitcom Boy Meets World was announced, Topanga proudly made the switch to PUP.

The Toronto four-piece has been gaining traction in local punk scene for the last few years and are excited to be releasing their first album in the fall. The (as of now) untitled debut record is produced by the legendary Dave Schiffman (Weezer, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Mars Volta). “We wanted to make a record that sounded like us live, and Dave’s philosophy was that the record should sound like the best show we’ve every played,” said lead singer Stefan Babcock.

If you want to catch the band live, they’re playing with Hollerado and The Zolas at The Danforth Music Hall on September 13, or check out the rest of the dates here.

Listen to PUP’s “Reservoir” and “Lionheart” below!

Keep your eyes and ears open for the album that is set to drop October 8 on Royal Mountain Records.
