Pianist and composer, Chilly Gonzales has been breaking down the mechanics of pop music and educating the world on musical theory and structure for quite some time.
His latest endeavor, Beats 1 show Music’s Cool, deconstructs the music of popular artists and past collaborators, like Daft Punk and Weezer. The most recent installment showcases Toronto ambassador Drake.
Gonzales offers his insight regarding musical arrangement, and having collaborated with Drake in the past (with work on Take Care’s dark break-up hit, “Marvin’s Room”), he is bound to know a thing or two about the much-loved rapper’s “distinct musical point of view”.
