Toni Cornell stays true to the famous original, as she sings stop an acoustic guitar line. She only performs the first two minutes of the track, but the moving rendition does show off her immense musical talent. Toni previously covered “Hallelujah” with One Republic on Good Morning America as a tribute to her father and Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington.
“Throwback to Xmas Eve,” Toni wrote on Instagram. “Hallelujah revisited.” Her mother and Chris Cornell’s widow, Vicky, commented “Love you so much angel.”

Toni isn’t the only one who inherited Chris Cornell’s musical talent. In December of 2020, Chris’ other daughter, Lily Cornell Silver, covered Alice In Chains’ “Black Gives Way to Blue.” Lily performed as part of the MoPOP Founders Award ceremony on December 1st, where she paid tribute to Alice In Chains, the event’s honourees.
“So very honoured and excited to be a part of this year’s Founders Awards honouring Alice In Chains and benefitting the Museum of Pop Culture,” Lily says. “These guys are, and always have been, my family, and I feel so lucky to be honouring them alongside so many amazing artists. I’m singing a song that is super meaningful to me.”
Between that and Toni’s cover of “Hallelujah,” it’s clear that the Cornell family is full of musical ability.
