It’s that time of the year where it’s socially acceptable to really embrace the macabre and get in touch with your darker side. Whether you’re looking to impress the guests at your Halloween party, or you just want to get gruesome on your lonesome, here are some spooky twists on your standard cocktail.
Corpse Reviver #2

Credited with reviving the dead, the classic Corpse Reviver no. 2 belongs on any macabre drink list. If it doesn’t re-animate the deceased, it may at least cure your hangover.
1 oz. gin
1 oz. Cointreau
1 oz. Lillet Blanc
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 dash absinthe
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: cocktail
Garnish: orange peelShake all ingredients with ice, strain into a chilled glass and garnish.
Zombie
Another classic with a name that was designed for Spooktober, the Zombie is an intense tiki cocktail that packs a punch.
1/2 oz. white rum
1 1/2 oz. golden rum
1 oz. dark rum
1/2 oz. 151-proof rum
1 oz. lime juice
1 tsp. pineapple juice
1 tsp. papaya juice
1 tsp. superfine sugarStir together all the ingredients.
Pour the mixture into a 14-ounce glass three-fourths full of cracked ice.
Garnish with mint and/or fruit.
Skull Juice
Serve drinks out of a human skull. Well not a real human skull, but this limited edition Crystal Head bone bottle would work just as well. Plus it comes with vodka.
8oz vodka
6oz fresh orange juice
4oz fresh lemon juice
3oz stone’s Ginger wine
3oz pomegranate reduction
2oz maple syrup ( 1:1 maple:water)
35 dashes AngosturaMix all ingredients well and bottle in a Crystal Head Vodka bottle. Chill well before serving.
Garnish glasses with fresh pomegranate arils and a sprig of rosemary.
Cherry Eyeball Punch

4 cups Cherry juice
1 cup Orange juice
2 liters Sparkling water
3 cups Ice

Witches’ Daiquiri

There’s never a better time than Halloween to try Strega, which literally means witch in Italian. The liqueur has a herbal flavour incorporating saffron, mint, cinnamon, and juniper berries.
1 oz. Rum, Gold
0.66 oz. Strega Liqueur
0.33 oz. Orgeat
0.5 oz. Lemon Juice
0.5 oz. Orange JuiceShake all ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass.
