Calgary musician Clea Anaïs has shared a video for her new single, “Stars Still Dying.”
The track comes as the debut single from her first solo album. After years of working with her collaborative band RALEIGH, Clea Anaïs is going solo. “Stars Still Dying” previews her new sound, which strikes a perfect balance between genre-defying production and nostalgic grooves. “Stars Still Dying” is a perfect preview of that sound. Melodically, the track boasts pop-leaning melodies, but lyrically, the song is a love letter to her father after he passed away.
“‘Stars Still Dying’ is a love song for my father, exalting simultaneously the depth of joy shared, the potential of love, and the recognition of what loss leaves behind,” Clea Anaïs explains.

“Stars Still Dying” balances dreamy, groovy sounds with darker lyrics that explore the circle of life. Anaïs’ silky, dreamy vocals take the lead atop smooth horns and driven percussion.
Alongside the track, Clea Anaïs shared a video from Brok Jorgensen. The clip portrays the genuine and intimate love between a parent and child. Throughout the video, a mother and son play outside on a sunny day, petting horses and running in a field.
Lyrically, Anaïs delivers lines like, “It was as far as we had dreamed/ The garden grew deep, the incense rising/ Lifted as heat to stars still dying/ Gone just like magic by the morning.”
