Get those skates sharpened!

Looking for a new spot to carve some ice this winter? Downtown residents will be pleased to find a new skating rink has opened up in the CityPlace Canoe Landing Park, and it’s open to the entire community.

Located at Fort York and Dan Leckie Way, the full-size skating rink is a great spot for Lakeshore, Liberty Village and Queen West residents alike.

The rink’s official opening was January 21st, but CityPlace residents have since been taking advantage of the skating rink’s quiet unveiling. CityPlace Fort York BIA shared their intentions for the rink’s future via a Facebook event:

Future plans to include piping/chiller are in progress for the end of the year installation to assist in avoiding these issues. The best news of all is that temperatures WILL begin to drop and the ice rink will be open soon, and available for the entire community to enjoy until the end of March!

Looks like it’s about time you get your skates sharpened! For more rinks around the city, take a look at our Coolest Places to Skate in Toronto list.
