Comprehensive Woodstock 50th anniversary box set to feature every musician from the festival

Despite the potential flop of Woodstock 50, Rhino has announced the release of a comprehensive box set in honour of the festival’s 50th anniversary that is set to feature music from every artist at the original Woodstock.

Woodstock – Back to the Garden – The Definitive 50th Anniversary Archive will be composed of 432 tracks across 38 CDS with a whopping 267 recordings, totalling more than 20 hours of never-before-released music. Each of the 32 artists who performed during the iconic weekend in August of 1969 will be featured in chronological order, including full performances by artists like Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Band, The Who, and more.

In addition to the music, the box set will feature the director’s cut of Michael Wadleigh’s Woodstock documentary, a hardcover copy of Michael Lang’s Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace & Music novel, a replica of the original program, a guitar strap, photo prints, posters, and a recreation of a festivalgoer’s diary. Back to the Garden, which is set for release on August 2nd, will be limited to only 1,969 copies around the world, all priced at $799.98.
