“I’ve never really been one to collect stuff,” Grohl says in the trailer for The Storyteller. “But I do collect moments. My life flashes before my eyes every single day. And in writing this book, I’ve tried to capture those moments the best I can.”

Grohl goes on to say that when the world was locked down, he “suddenly had nothing to do. I never have nothing to do. So I thought I would spend my time writing these short stories for an Instagram page, Dave’s True Stories. In doing that, I fell in love with writing. And I thought, ‘Oh, you know what, maybe I’ll just write a book,’ without realizing how gargantuan a project it would be.”
The Storyteller is out on October 5th. You can pre-order the book here.
Earlier this week, the Foo Fighters performed a medley at the MTV VMAs, where they accepted the Global Icon Award.
Grohl also hinted at new Foo Fighters music in an interview with Rolling Stone. He hinted at new music from the band, mentioning that their next album could be “an insane prog-rock record.” Grohl revealed that although new music has yet to be written, there are “whispers” around the musical route the next record could take.
