‘David Bowie Is’ exhibition set to become augmented reality app

It's set to be released on what would have been his 72nd birthday

“David Bowie Is,” a David Bowie museum exhibition, is set to be released as an augmented reality mobile app on January 8th, 2019, which would have been the legendary musician’s 72nd birthday.

The app, which will be available for both iOS and Android devices, will let fans look at hundreds of costumes, videos, handwritten lyrics, and artwork featured in the exhibit, as well as several items that will be exclusive to the application.

The app comes from New York’s Planeta in collaboration with the David Bowie Archive and Sony Music Entertainment. Additionally, this augmented reality exhibit is the first of its kind, allowing users to look at each object in 360-degree detail.
