One thing that’s true of great artists is that their work lives on long after they’re gone. According to Newsweek, this is especially true for David Bowie, who prepared a number of anthologies to be released posthumously. The first of these releases is reported to drop as early as 2017. Sources claim that the anthologies will represent musical eras from Bowie’s massive and diverse career and will not necessarily follow a chronological order.
David Bowie’s last album Blackstar, was released on the artist’s 69th birthday and just days before he died. It was later revealed that the album was intended as a farewell message to his fans.
We take solace in knowing that David Bowie’s music will actively live in on with more new releases in the coming years.
