Deanna Petcoff documents falling out of love on new album ‘To Hell With You, I Love You’

Toronto’s Deanna Petcoff has shared her debut album, To Hell With You, I Love You, out now via Royal Mountain Records.

Recorded over a year, the new record sees Petcoff documenting falling out of love with nuance. Throughout To Hell With You, I Love You, Petcoff sings of the highs and lows of love and heartbreak, all while finding her voice and identity.

The emotional new album is all about “the whirlwind of emotions you have when you’re grieving a relationship, which can feel like the death of a part of you or what you thought your life was going to look like.”

The textured album places Petcoff’s rich vocal lines at the forefront, as she delivers vulnerable, relatable lyrics across 10 tracks.

To Hell With You, I Love You features previously released singles like “If You Were Me,” “Devastatingly Mediocre,” “I Don’t Wanna Get Over You,” and “Failing Upwards.”

“Devastatingly Mediocre” serves as the crux of the album, as Petcoff delivers cheeky lines to take down a, well, mediocre boyfriend.

“It’s so easy to get caught up in things when someone is showing you attention, that you forget to clock whether you like them at all,” Petcoff explains of the track.

From the pleading “Sing With Me” to the self-deprecating “Trash Bag,” To Hell With You, I Love You is a dynamic, starkly honest album that places the storylines at the helm. It’s all about “exploring the ins and outs of love and heartbreak with a grace and quick wit that belies her year,” a press release explains.
