Dan Bejar has shared a video for his new single as Destroyer, “June.”
The seven-minute track comes from his forthcoming album, LABYRINTHITIS, out March 25th via Merge. “June” is an absurd tune with perfectly peculiar instrumentals. Lyrically, the track looks at “the heinously abstruse entanglement of the beauty and pain of the human condition and the relentless marching of time,” according to a release. The surreal accompanying video, co-directed by Bejar and Galloway, follows the journey of a burrito as it makes its way to Destroyer’s doorstep.
“Is it spring where you are? I think June is technically summer, but that’s not the point I’m trying to make,” Galloway explains. “The flowers are starting to come out now, and the birds sure as hell are. There it was; the future just flew by. What’s the quorum on something like that?”

The new Destroyer album is set to see Dan Bejar exploring some uncharted sonic territory. The mystic, intoxicating album opens up with the question, “Do you remember the mythic beast?” on “Tintoretto, It’s For You.” From then on, Bejar weaves peculiar images and perplexing allusions throughout LABYRINTHITIS.
In addition to “June,” LABYRINTHITIS features the previously released singles “Tintoretto, It’s For You” and “Eat The Wine, Drink The Bread.”
