61,000 Dishwashers Recalled by Health Canada Due To Fire Hazard

Recall includes several brands

If you purchased a dishwasher between January 2013 and May 2015, there is a chance that your machine is being recalled.

More than 61,000 dishwashers are being recalled by Health Canada after as a potential fire hazard. The devices in question were sold by multiple different outlets, department stores, home improvement retailers and even online stores. The dishwashers feature power cords that are suseptible to overheating, and could result in catching fire.

The recall applies to a varying group of brands, including Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Kenmore, and Jenn-Air. So far there have been no reported injuries related to the recall, but a couple instances of property damage in the U.S.

The recall extends beyond Canada, where around 408,000 units being recalled in the United States, and Germany.
