Disney+ celebrates May the Fourth with trailer for ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’

Disney+ is celebrating May the Fourth with the first trailer for its new series, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

In the clip, Ewan McGregor returns to the Star Wars universe. The forthcoming series takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Obi-Wan Kenobi is set when Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) has fully crossed over to the Dark Side.

Darth Sidious has Inquisitors tracking down the remaining Jedi, so Obi-Wan is forced into hiding. Throughout the show, Obi-Wan watches over the young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. Inquisitor Reva is hunting Obi-Wan in this high stakes series. Throughout the clip, Obi-Wan tries to convince Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton) to let him train Skywalker. “Like you trained his father?” Lars asks Obi-Wan.

“They’re coming,” we hear in the clip. “Stay hidden, or we will not survive.”

Alongside Ewan McGregor, Bonnie Piesse reprises her role as Aunt Beru and Christensen reprises his role as Darth Vader. The series will also star Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Benny Safdie, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, and Simone Kessel. As a fun twist, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea is set to make a cameo in the series.

“Jedi Master Obi-Win Kenobi watches over young Luke Skywalker and evades the Empire’s elite Jedi hunters during his exile on the desert planet Tatooine,” the show’s logline reads.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 27th, and it will run for six episodes.
