To our surprise, Disney unveiled the cast for their 2019 remake of The Lion King, and boy is it a doozy.
Donald Glover will star as the voice of Simba alongside childhood friend Nala, who will be played by Beyonce. James Earl Jones will be reprising his role as Simba’s father, Mufasa.
Also included in the cast is Chiwetel Ejiofor (10 Years a Slave), Alfre Woodard (Luke Cage), John Oliver, and Eric Andre, Keegan-Michael Key with Billy Eichner (American Horror Story) and Seth Rogen as Simone and Pumbaa. Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Jungle Book) will direct the film before its release July 19th 2019.
