Drake has released a new version of his recent music video for “War,” which removes a brief cameo from Toronto’s infamous “Chair Girl.
The artist’s video, which he released on Monday evening, originally featured a split-second clip of 19-year-old Marcella Zoia, who threw a chair off of a downtown Toronto high-rise balcony earlier in 2019. After the release of the video, Torontonians were quick to critique the appearance of the Instagram model, who pleaded guilty to the crime last month.
Zoia appeared in the clip toward the end of the video, smoking and drinking in a blue-tinged room. On Wednesday, Drake posted to Instagram, revealing that a new version of the clip was released that removed “certain people we don’t condone,” adding that there would be “no chairs.”
Check out Drake’s comments about the incident below.
Drake really re-uploaded an entire music video because the girl who threw a chair off a balcony onto the highway in Toronto earlier this year had a cameo ? pic.twitter.com/wRMmwnVYKW
