Indie88 Premiere: Drew Thomson Foundation Share New Video for ‘Pace Yourself’

Single Mothers frontman strips it back on solo material

Single Mothers frontman Drew Thomson dropped a solo EP on May 11 via Dine Alone Records, and it’s one of the year’s best under-the-radar releases. Today, Indie88 is unveiling the latest video from the Drew Thomson Foundation for “Pace Yourself.”

While Thomson is best known for his work in one of Canada’s best punk bands, his solo works came together with an acoustic guitar on quiet afternoons and in backseats of vans while on the road.

“Everyone moves through life in their own way and that comes with success and failure,” director Vanessa Heins told Indie88. “You only learn by doing. I think we wanted to do a playful take on the very real lyrics, showing Drew going through the motions at his own unique pace. The great part about making this video was that although there was this man in a bright yellow robe dancing through the streets, most people did not bat an eye at it. I think serves as a good reminder to let you freak flag fly at all times cause no one really cares, so you might as well just be yourself.”
