With renovations underway for the brand new Saks Fifth Avenue store set to open at Yonge and Dundas next Spring, it’s no surprise things around the Eaton Centre are a-changin’. One of the major changes is a brand-new skybridge pedestrians can take to pass over Queen St between the Eaton Centre and the old Hudson’s Bay building, which is where Saks will be housed.
The floor-to-ceiling spiraling glass paneled design plans to breathe new life into the currently drab building connector (see left), and is only one of the new things to come: Saks’ flagship store will also feature a 3-story food hall within the Bay building, a valet service, and a full restaurant. Saks is scheduled to open in spring 2016.
