Paramount Pictures has unloaded Eddie Murphy’s Coming To America sequel, the excellently titled Coming 2 America, to the tune of a reported $125 million in a sale to Amazon Studios. Amazon is set to debut the film on December 18.
Paramount had reportedly been looking for a dance partner to sell the film to, in light of ongoing theatre closures amid the COVID-19 pandemic. A Christmas Day release for the sequel to John Landis’ 1988 film was initially planned.
