Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has shared his new single “The Haves.” He also announced a release date for his new solo album, Earthling, which will be out on February 22nd.
“The Haves” follows previously released single “Long Way,” which he shared upon announcing his album. Unlike on the new single, “Long Way” is more of an upbeat, uplifting anthem.
“The Haves” is a pretty soft ballad. With an intimate piano line and gentle melodies, Vedder’s vocals take the lead. I’s all about appreciating what you have in life and learning to be satisfied. Lyrically, Vedder delivers lines like, “We find ourselves reaching for something above/ But we’ve got enough.”

Grammy producer of the year Andrew Watt recorded forthcoming album, Earthling.
“There was something there right away that I wanted to chase and finish,” Watt told Variety about his jam sessions with Vedder. “It was just the right place and the right time and it all happened very organically. It sounds like people playing together in a room, which is what a good rock song should be.”
Pre-order Earthling here. A tracklist for the album has yet-to-be released. Thus far, we’ve only gotten “The Haves” and “Long Way” from the record.
Eddie Vedder has been quite busy as of late. He recently collaborated with Glen Hansard on eight compositions for the Flag Day Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. It also features three new original songs from Cat Power, and Oliva Vedder appears on two tracks. Check out the soundtrack for Flag Day here.
