Justin Peroff of Broken Social Scene + Dave Hamelin and Liam O’Neill of The Stills = 8.5. The guys, who have been friends for years (Broken Social Scene and The Stills had shared stages as far back as 2003) realized over the course of several conversations that they all shared a desire to create adventurous new music.
It wasn’t until the end of 2010 – after years of living in different cities and on the road – that all three found themselves calling Toronto home, and so the conditions were in place to elevate Eight and a Half from sideline recording project to a primary band. Together, they have created one of the most satisfying debut albums you’ll hear in 2012 – look for it in stores/online April 10th.
