Grammy nominated pop-soul singer Emily King spent most of her life living in New York City’s lower east side. She began her music career right out of high school in 2004, and quickly found success, earning an appearance on Nas’ 2004 album Street’s Disciple, and being featured as the opening act for legendary artists including Alicia Keys, Chaka Khan, and Erykah Badu.
To find new motivation, she recently decided to change up her surroundings, moving from NYC to Upstate New York. She signed to ATO Records in 2017, the label home of Brittany Howard, and Benjamin Booker and released her fourth album Scenery, inspired by the new found freedom provided by her new home.
She visited us to perform two tracks from the album, “Look At Me Now” and “Remind Me,” live in our Black Box studio.
