Facebook is gearing up to launch its very own TikTok competitor, Instagram Reels.
The new program will launch in over 50 countries in the next few weeks, according to NBC News. The global launch comes as TikTok is facing an inquiry in Washington over its handling of user data.

Like TikTok, Instagram Reels will let users create and share 15-second video clips to a catalogue of music, and users can even borrow and remix audio from other users’ videos. Just like TikTok, the videos can go viral in a “Featured Reels” section of the platform’s most popular videos.
Users will be able to use Instagram Reels through a new icon at the bottom of their screen in Instagram, and they can post Reels to Instagram’s main feed or Instagram explore.
