Faye Webster shares cover of Fleet Foxes’ ‘If You Need To, Keep Time On Me’

Faye Webster has shared a cover of Fleet Foxes’ Crack-Up single, “If You Need To, Keep Time On Me.”

The cover comes from Webster’s new EP, Live At Electric Lady, for the titular series. Each release in the series features a cover of a song connected to Electric Lady, and Webster selected the Fleet Foxes tune for her release.

“Recording at Electric Lady Studios was a rare experience, especially because I was able to bring musicians who have been with me since my early days in Athens and Atlanta,” Faye Webster explains. “It was special, and I’m still processing it.”

Webster’s rendition of “If You Need to, Keep Time on Me” strips down the original even further. On the cover, Webster replaces the original acoustic guitar with an electric. Throughout the tune, she croons atop the simple guitar line, foregoing the harmonies and piano altogether.

Back in June, Faye Webster shared her new album, I Know I’m Funny haha. On the new album, Webster took the breezy sounds of her debut Atlanta Millionaires Club and adds some quirky lyricism.

That album features previously released singles “A Dream With a Baseball Player,” “Cheers,” and the record’s title track.
