Faye Webster shares video for ‘Car Therapy,’ announces new EP recorded with an orchestra

Atlanta singer-songwriter Faye Webster has announced a new EP, Car Therapy Sessions, out April 29th via Secretly Canadian. Alongside the announcement, she’s shared a video for its title track.

The stunning, orchestral instrumentals add a new dimension to Webster’s signature raspy vocal lines. With beautiful wind instruments and enchanting strings, Webster’s soft vocals take the lead. Lyrically, Webster delivers lines like, “Every Tuesday, I’ll be in the driveway/ Talking to a stranger for some help.”

The accompanying video sees Webster performing in a regal blue dress from a room just outside of the full orchestra. Like “Car Therapy,” the video is pretty enchanting, as you see everything that goes into this lush new tune.

Watch the video for “Car Therapy” below.

Car Therapy Sessions features some reimaginings of tracks from Webster’s albums, I Know I’m Funny haha and Atlanta Millionaires Club. The songs on the collection were all recorded with a 24-piece orchestra.

“The recording experience was beautiful, I was truly fighting tears,” Webster says of the EP. “I think I had actually even cried listening to the demos. I was put in a position where I could see the conductor as well as the producer, which I needed because I honestly couldn’t pick up on my cues sometimes even though I wrote the songs. I was so distracted in how beautiful the orchestra sounded I would forget to sing sometimes.”

Check out the tracklist for the EP below.

01 – “Kind Of (Type of Way)”
