Faye Webster shares video for new orchestral reimagining ‘Suite: Jonny’

Faye Webster has shared a video for another new orchestral reimagining, “Suite: Jonny.”

The track comes from her forthcoming orchestral EP, Car Therapy Sessions, out this Friday, April 29th via Secretly Canadian. “Suite: Jonny” combines two connected tracks from 2019’s Atlanta Millionaires Club, “Jonny” and “Jonny (Reprise).” This version of the track boasts some soft, intimate instrumentals and slowed down vocal lines. The accompanying video lets the viewer into the recording process of the track.

“This is the song that sparked the whole concept for this project for me,” Webster explains. “It’s also one of the first songs that I ever wrote that I felt was truly honest and had true transparency, which I think is maybe why so many people relate to it. I wanted to be able to relive this song in a way that felt new at the same time, which is why I really like the direction that Trey took these orchestral arrangements.”

Car Therapy Sessions features some reimaginings of tracks from Webster’s albums, I Know I’m Funny haha and Atlanta Millionaires Club. The songs on the collection were all recorded with a 24-piece orchestra.

“The recording experience was beautiful, I was truly fighting tears,” Webster says of the EP. “I think I had actually even cried listening to the demos. I was put in a position where I could see the conductor as well as the producer, which I needed because I honestly couldn’t pick up on my cues sometimes even though I wrote the songs. I was so distracted in how beautiful the orchestra sounded I would forget to sing sometimes.”

In addition to “Suite: Jonny,” Car Therapy Sessions features the previously released “Car Therapy.”
