Feist, Fucked Up, PUP, more Toronto musicians sign open letter demanding end to encampment evictions

Hundreds of Toronto musicians have come together to sign an open letter demanding an end to encampment evictions.

This year, a large number of unhoused people have had their encampments threatened by the City of Toronto, and now musicians like Feist, Fucked Up, PUP, Alvvays, Broken Social Scene, Homeshake, Partner, Holy Fuck and more are taking a stand.

The letter is addressed to Mayor John Tory and several members of Toronto City Council, and it sees the musicians demanding that the city of Toronto stop confiscating survival equipment including Tiny Shelters, foam domes, and tents. They also demanded for 2,000 new shelter hotel rooms to open in the next four months, and an immediate moratorium on encampment evictions.
