We love Toronto, but in recent years we have been lacking some serious festival representation across the GTA. We were brought out last year to Quebec City to check out what they have to offer and like 2023, this year was also an incredible experience. Here is what Festival d’été de Québec has to offer!

A festival spanning an impressive TWO weeks for a single GA wristband starting at $150 (That’s insane!). We flew over for the first four days which included a wide array of music crossing all genres, stages, languages, and cultures. On top of the music, wandering around Quebec City is like a dream. First night in town we headed straight for the main stage for two of our core artists. JJ Wilde opened up with her massive stage presence and charm, most of the crowd had filled the property, which fits 100,000 folks. Arkells followed up next full of energy and surging horn sections building up an already rowdy crowd. Hate them if you want, Nickelback took headlining spot and blew our minds. Even brought up Max from Arkells to sing vocals on “Hero” and also brought TALK who took a shot of vocals on “Rockstar”. Was quite an introduction to this years programming.

Over the next few days you become familiar with how the setup and flow of the city works so you become quite comfortable travelling around. We caught acts like Carly Rae Jepsen, Killer Mike, The Dead South, 50 Cent, Jonas Brothers, and many more. You really do get a wild universe of music!
We also couldn’t get over how much of a time machine Old Quebec can be for someone who has never been. Felt like a scene out of Europe with all the cobblestone, cafes, shops, and tons of staircases! For anyone who loves to window shop and sit down for a nice lunch, there are endless possibilities in this area of town!
The key points to take off this festival is how organized and easy it made for everyone to get around and truly experience the entire festival. They provide such diverse selection of music and they are not afraid to put everyone next together in a melting pot of energy.
If you are looking for an out of town adventure that isn’t across the country. A tiny 70 minute plane ride will get you to Quebec City and you can enjoy as well. We will see you for 2025!
