French artist Fishbach has made her return with a video for her new single, “Masque d’or.”
The single marks her first release in four years, following her debut album, À ta merci. “Masque d’or” is a stunning return for Fishbach. On the track, she balances her synthpop sound with Michael Declerck’s captivating mixing. The tune comes packed with deep grooves, killer guitar licks, and a Studio 54-style sound.
The accompanying video is absolutely captivating. It sees Fishbach in a smoky sort of cabaret. With retro, slicked hair and shimmering gold props, the hazy, campy clip is the perfect accompaniment to “Masque d’or.” Throughout the video, she performs with two backup dancers beneath a shimmering spotlight. Throughout the entire clip, she performs by a ladder that seems to lead right into the light.

On “Masque d’or,” Fishbach’s vocals truly take the lead. With a smoky, sensual sound, the artist sings about the man behind the mask. The song is all in French, as she sings lines like, “Et ça te rentre, et ça te sort/ Et ça te fait le masque d’or.”
“Masque d’or” comes as the lead single from the upcoming sophomore Fishbach album. That record is set for release in February 2022.
For her debut album, À ta merci, Fishbach was nominated for best newcomer at the Victoires de la Musique in 2018.
