Five Things to do in Toronto this Weekend

Outdoor movies, the CNE, and lots of cider

August is slowly coming to an end, so be sure to get out this weekend and enjoy as much of summer as you can. Need help deciding what to do? Here is our list of the top five things to do this weekend in Toronto.

Live Music

Midnight Oil and Matthew Good are playing tonight at the Budweiser Stage. Washed Out are performing at the Danforth tomorrow night at 7 p.m.

Check out some Comedy

Party Today (Panic Tomorrow) is a Second City comedy series that kicked off on August 23 and runs all through this coming weekend. The series seeks to explore the “ suffering from political exhaustion, screaming over board games, settling scores with dance-offs, and taking life advice from a giant banana.”

Go to the Ex

For many, the CNE marks the end of summer and is a last hurrah before the new school year. Spend a day this weekend going on rides, winning stuffed animals, and eating your weight in funnel cake. Check out our guide to food at this year’s CNE here.

Try Something New at the Toronto Cider Festival

This year’s Toronto Cider Festival will celebrate Canada 150 with live entertainment and local Canadian talent to accompany a wide selection of cider from Canada and around the world. Cool off in their lounging area, watch some live music, or indulge in delicious food this weekend.

Watch a Movie Under the Stars

The Chelsea Hotel on Gerrard St W will be showing The Secret Life of Pets under the stars tomorrow night. The movie is free to attend and will take place on the Chelsea Hotel’s Market Garden Patio. Click here for more information.
