Five Things To Do in Toronto this Weekend

Apple picking season is upon us

The days are getting shorter but the sun is still shining. Get out this weekend and soak up what’s left of the city’s summer sun. Here’s our list of fun things to do in Toronto this weekend.

Kensington Market Jazz Festival

The Kensington Market Jazz Festival is happening all weekend. The lineup is huge, and even if you’re not all that into jazz, anything held at Kensington Market is bound to be a good time.

Indie88 presents the excellent garage rockers Oh Sees (formerly “Thee Oh Sees”) at the Danforth tonight. Grab your tickets here.

If you’re looking for a serious throw back, Simple Plan will be performing live at the Danforth Music Hall tomorrow. Click here for more information.

Roncesvalles Polish Festival

The Roncesvalles Polish Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Enjoy local music and delicious food, and keep an eye out for the Indie88 Street Team for some fun giveaways!

Take advantage of a world renowned festival that happens to be in your neighbourhood. This is your last weekend to enjoy TIFF, so click here for a full lineup of films.

Apple Picking

It’s that time of year! Visit one of the many apple orchards that surround Toronto and the GTA. This is an inexpensive way to enjoy the weekend, get outside, and also walk away with bags of delicious apples.

Some orchards around Toronto include Organics Family Farm in Markham, Chudleigh’s in Halton Hills, and Dixie Orchards in Hamilton.
