Five Things to do in Toronto this Long Weekend (Aug 4th)

Regardless of whether it rains all weekend or not, there is a ton happening in Toronto over the next few days. So buy a good umbrella and check out our list of the top five things to do in the city this weekend.
 

1. Live Music

Fleet Foxes will be playing at Massey Hall tonight and tomorrow night. Ontario Place is also hosting an Arts and Music Ontario Festival, which is free to attend and will feature live music from various local bands all weekend.

2. Toronto Caribbean Carnival

The Toronto Caribbean Carnival is a massive festival in Toronto that celebrates Caribbean culture. Tomorrow is the Grand Parade, which will run from Exhibition Place to Lakeshore. Traffic gets particularly heavy on this day, so opt to take the train if you’re coming into the city.


 

3. Summerworks

Summerworks just kicked off yesterday. Over the span of 11 days, this festival celebrates theatre, dance, music and live art through 52 unique projects and a series of parties. Click here for more information.


 

4. Rogers Cup

The best in women’s tennis will be returning to Toronto this weekend until August 13. Click here for ticket information.


 

5. Shakespeare in High Park

Shakespeare in High Park runs on a pay-what-you-can basis, unless you want to reserve premiere seating for $25. Either way, it’s affordable and bound to provide some entertainment over the long weekend. Tonight’s event is an adaptation of Twelfth Night at 8 p.m., while tomorrow’s show is King Lear.
