After two years of lockdown due to COVID-19, The Caribbean Carnival is set to return to the city from July 28th to 31st. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the Grande Parade, which was first gifted to Canada by the Caribbean Community during Canada’s centennial celebrations. The Caribbean Carnival will feature spectacular costumes, music, and culture.

Indie pop duo The Marias are headed to the Danforth Music Hall this Friday, July 29th. They’ll be playing tunes from their most recent album, CINEMA. Singer María Zardoya says the album offers listeners a “break away from real life for a while to create some kind of dream world in their heads.”
